Glass House Films on Pedro Guerrero and Landis Gores Recognized by Connecticut Press Club

Philip Johnson Glass House Guide and film coordinator for the Glass House and New Canaan High School educational partnership program, Gwen North Reiss, has won two awards for her part as interviewer and coordinator in two oral history films featuring Landis Gores and Pedro Guerrero, published on the Philip Johnson Glass House website (philipjohnsonglasshouse.org) in 2011.

Gwen North Reiss will receive this year’s 1st and 2nd place awards in the category of web interview/content for a non-profit organization, from the Connecticut Press Club. These interviews were part of the collaboration of the Glass House and the New Canaan High School film department.

Educational Partnership with New Canaan High School

An exciting collaboration between the Glass House and New Canaan High School began shortly after the Glass House opened to the public. Photography, documentary film and journalism students, with the support of their teachers, record oral history films of the architects, craftsmen and homeowners who created New Canaan’s remarkable heritage of modernist residential architecture.

Watch new student films featuring designer Jens Risom, photographer Pedro Guerrero, builder Port Draper, and Pamela Gores, wife of Harvard Five architect Landis Gores.
